Diwali - Meaning and Life Thoughts

Lighting Diyas during Diwali-The Festival of Lights. 🪔 Diwali – Meaning and Life Thoughts There is a great magic in the word ' Diwali' . As soon as this word is pronounced, a wave of happiness, joy, and excitement is created in our mind. Although primarily a Hindu festival, Diwali is also celebrated in various forms by people of other religions✨ We give Diwali a big place in our lives. We plan our big purchases on Diwali, and even in our everyday talk, we often ask jokingly, “Is it Diwali today?” when someone demands something special. The thought of Diwali begins much earlier, almost 15–20 days before the festival.   In conversations, the word “Diwali” itself is enough to bring positivity. During this time, people avoid taking negative decisions like dismissal, recovery, or seizure. Even when real life brings challenges, nobody misses the chance to celebrate Diwali. The preparations—making sky lanterns, putting up fairy lights, decorating homes—fill the atmosphere with joy...

We Are All Beggars of Someone-A Thoughtful Reflection.

A weathered hand holding coins labeled Promotion,Love,Respect,Attention, and power-symbolizing hidden forms of begging in human life.
We insult beggars, but in reality,we too beg for promotion, love, respect, attention, and power in different ways.

🌍 We Are All Beggars of Someone – A Thoughtful Reflection

When we walk down the street, we often see a beggar 🙏.
A bowl in his hand, despair on his face, and a single request – “Please give me something.”
Sometimes we help, sometimes we ignore, and sometimes we look down upon him.
But the real question is – are we truly different from him? 🤔

---

🌱 Dependence Hidden in Everyday Life

No matter how independent we think we are, life constantly reminds us that we rely on others. A farmer depends on rain 🌧️, a child depends on parents 👨‍👩‍👧, and even a leader depends on followers. Our daily life is woven with invisible threads of dependence. To beg, in its deeper sense, is not always about money—it is about seeking love, care, and support.

---

The Truth of Life – We Are All Beggars.

Yes, salary is our right 💵 when we honestly complete the work given by our employer.
But when we ask for a salary without working properly, promotions without deserving, or frequent leave without responsibility – isn’t that also a form of begging?

Similarly,

Businessmen request customers – “Buy from me.” 🛒

Students chase teachers for notes and guidance 📚.

Artists, singers, and writers long for claps 👏, likes 👍, and appreciation.

So, in one way or another – we are all beggars of someone.

🔎 Begging for Recognition

Beyond money or love, many people beg silently for recognition. An artist longs for appreciation of creativity 🎨, an employee seeks acknowledgment for hard work 💼, and even parents hope their sacrifices will be valued. This quiet desire for recognition shows how deeply human beings need respect. Recognition is not luxury—it is emotional food that nourishes dignity. 🌟

🙌 Different Forms of Begging

Begging is not only about money. It appears in many ways:

💰 Money Begging

Unearned salary, unnecessary allowances, or living without work.

🏆 Respect Begging

Craving for honor and recognition without true worth.

❤️ Love Begging

Expecting affection and care all the time.

📱 Attention Begging

Wanting likes, comments, followers on social media.

🗳️ Power Begging

Politicians begging for votes.

---

🌐 Begging in the Modern World

In today’s fast-paced digital age, begging takes new forms. People beg for likes 👍 on social media, for followers on Instagram, or for validation in virtual spaces. This silent hunger for approval shows how technology has changed human needs but not human nature. Deep inside, the desire remains the same—to feel seen, valued, and accepted.

---

🕊️ The Power of Gratitude

If we are all beggars in some form, gratitude becomes our richest treasure. When we thank the people who support us—parents, friends, teachers, even strangers—we transform begging into bonding. Gratitude reminds us that life is not about standing above others, but about walking together. The one who feels thankful is never truly poor.

 🔎Hidden Begging in Daily Life

We beg God for something every day 🙏. But have you thought – what might God be saying to us?
Leaders go around begging people for votes 🗳️. After being elected, people beg leaders for favors and work.

Employees ask their employers for salary, promotion, or leave without working as per expectations – isn’t that begging?
Auto and taxi drivers charge more than the norm 🚖.
Corruption is also begging 💸.
The government gives unemployment allowances without work – another form of disguised begging.
Getting discounts by bargaining in shops 🛍️ is also begging.
Prestigious schools and colleges ask parents for donations 🎓 – that too is begging, only given a “cute” name.

We don’t use the word begging for such actions, nor do we call those people beggars.
We only use the word beggar for a person sitting on the street or at a signal, holding a bowl in his hand, spreading his hands for money.

But in reality, we too spread our hands in front of others from time to time.

---

🤷‍♂️ Who Do We Really Call a Beggar?

Some people even steal money or food from a beggar’s bowl 😔.
When we see a beggar, we avoid him, cross the road, and go away. Similarly, when we borrow money from someone, we also try to avoid them.

Mostly, blind, disabled, and diseased people are seen begging openly.
Those who can get blind or disabled concessions from the government or through other means do not stand on the streets.

And interestingly – except humans, no other animal begs. 🐾

---

✨ The Only Difference

A beggar stretches his hand openly.

We do the same, but cover it with words like “need, right, expectation.”

We call him inferior, but in reality, we too depend on others.

---

🌟 Awareness Builds Dignity

When society becomes aware that every person, rich or poor, powerful or ordinary, is a beggar of something, arrogance fades. Awareness creates dignity because it teaches us humility. 🌱 Instead of mocking another’s weakness, we begin to see our own. This change of perspective transforms dependence into compassion, and compassion into strength. 💖

---

🌱 Time for Introspection

Ask yourself –

Are we beggars of unearned money? 💵

Or of respect without deserving it? 🏅

Or of love and attention? ❤️📱

Or of power? 🗳️

Before insulting a beggar, look into your own reflection in him.
Because at the end – we are all beggars of someone. 🌍

---

Final Reflection – A Message for Everyone

Think about this carefully. If God himself were to speak to us, perhaps He would say:
"You ask me for health, wealth, happiness, and peace every single day. But what have you given in return? Aren’t you begging too?"

This truth is universal. Begging does not always mean standing on the street with a bowl. Begging means asking without deserving, expecting without giving, and demanding without contributing.

If we truly want to rise above begging, the solution is not to insult beggars but to reduce our own hidden begging.

Instead of asking, we should start giving:

Give respect, rather than always seeking it.

Give love, instead of only expecting it.

Give gratitude to life, instead of demanding more and more.

When we shift from asking to giving, we rise above the hidden beggar within us.

  1. Very good and profound post, Ajit. I think it's all about the words we use. They all mean the same. We are all asking others for something. You have ended the post nicely.
    Even our scriptures said:
    Don't ask, give;
What you give comes back to you in some way,
There is not need to ask.
