Lighting Diyas during Diwali-The Festival of Lights. 🪔 Diwali – Meaning and Life Thoughts There is a great magic in the word ' Diwali' . As soon as this word is pronounced, a wave of happiness, joy, and excitement is created in our mind. Although primarily a Hindu festival, Diwali is also celebrated in various forms by people of other religions✨ We give Diwali a big place in our lives. We plan our big purchases on Diwali, and even in our everyday talk, we often ask jokingly, “Is it Diwali today?” when someone demands something special. The thought of Diwali begins much earlier, almost 15–20 days before the festival. In conversations, the word “Diwali” itself is enough to bring positivity. During this time, people avoid taking negative decisions like dismissal, recovery, or seizure. Even when real life brings challenges, nobody misses the chance to celebrate Diwali. The preparations—making sky lanterns, putting up fairy lights, decorating homes—fill the atmosphere with joy...

"A middle-class man's emotional moment with his dream car" |
A Middle-Class Man’s Car Buying Story 🚗– Dream, Struggle, and Emotions❤️
Family Background👨👩👧👦
Our family is a young husband, wife, two children.
Wife is a housewife, children are going to school. I am a permanent employee in a good post in a big company. Wife is a house wife.
At home, after seeing advertisements on channels and cars of relatives, the children in the house started saying that we should also buy a car. But how will we explain to the children? That our ability is not that much, a middle-class working man can only think in his mind that he will buy a car.
---
The Spark of Desire✨
Then I also started thinking that we should also buy a car. If we have a car, our perspective will be seen as a successful person, respect will increase.
When I sat in the car of relatives, I started feeling jealous, I started feeling inferior, and I started feeling that I had a car.
Then I started observing the cars on the road, paying attention to the advertisements on TV, reading car advertisements in detail on mobile and newspapers. I started asking friends about cars.
They also started giving heaps of advice. They told me the advantages and disadvantages of CNG, petrol, diesel, electric, hybrid cars.
---
Confusion and Frustration🤯
From that, there was more ideological confusion than information. Types of cars, companies, from the very old models to the new Tesla on mobile.
I felt the difference in BP. Seeing the prices of new cars, I felt depressed. Once I thought, what is my ability?
I don’t think I can afford to buy a car. My friend said:
the price of the car’s tires is this much,
the insurance is this much,
the tax is this much,
the accessories are this much.
Hearing this, my head started spinning like a car wheel. My enthusiasm started to decrease.
But then a car passed very close by, it was a small standard size car. Exactly as I had in mind.
My mind went up and down like a car’s wiper and finally decided to buy this car, this color.
---
Budget and Sacrifices💰
Immediately after coming home, I checked if the car installment would fit into my take home salary excluding house loan and other deductions.
I felt somehow that it would fit. I realized that I would have to reduce unnecessary expenses—tea, cigarette, hoteling.
I got angry with myself, but was happy with the thought that the car installment would fit. I felt like I was sitting in the car and breathing the cool AC air before even buying it.
---
Learning to Drive🛞
But I immediately realized that I should first learn to drive a four-wheeler and get a license.
In the intoxication of buying a car, I went to a driving school. They had the facility to teach driving and arrange a license.
I immediately paid the fee, took morning lessons before office, and started learning.
---
Family Questions
My wife asked:
Why is my husband going to the office so early?
What do friends and I talk about cars on the phone?
Why does my husband tell us to eats speedily while eating together?
Why does my husband turn his plate like a steering wheel?
Why does my husband say “the tank is full” after eating?
One day while having dinner, my son turned the key and asked:
“Dad, when will we buy a car?”
I said: “Soon.”
Hearing this, the children’s faces lit up like the color of a new car.🚗
But my wife got annoyed as if the car’s headlight glare had fallen on her eyes and said:
“Don’t tell the children anything.”
Hearing this, my face turned as if silencer smoke had blown onto my face.
---
The Family Debate🗣️
When I told her the truth, she shouted loudly as if the car was going to blow up from a speed breaker.
I showed her the entire budget, including loans and installments.
She said:
“Why are you so bold? We are not saving because of school fees, house expenses, and inflation. Don’t you want money for the children’s education? I never bought the jewelry I want, and you are buying a car on finance loan?”
Hearing this, I was thrown from the front seat to the back seat.
My car got punctured and stopped.🛠️
Later that night, I explained everything thoroughly.
Rich people do not have such problems. In the middle class, it takes time and energy to explain to the family—cash or installment, discount, old or new, where to park, and what if installments can’t be paid?
---
Final Agreement
Finally, seeing the insistence of the children, their enthusiasm, my wife also gave a green signal, imagining a long drive with the family.
15–20 days passed. I started driving well. Especially, I didn’t hit anything. Later I got a learning license.
---
Showroom Experience🚘
After getting the license, I went to the car dealer with my friend.
They showed us the same car. Seeing the color and appearance, my mind was happy as if I had seen God.
We did a test drive. The salesman explained the steering, airbags, AC, music system—like he was selling an airplane.
After listening to the car music system, I felt like I was in heaven.
I looked at my face in the side mirror, stood next to the bonnet and took a selfie. Finally, I touched the dicky softly and whispered:
“Now you are going to be mine.”💓
---
Financial Reality
Then came the important part: the price.
They asked: Cash or Finance? We chose finance.
Margin money hit me like a horn in my head. I needed to arrange it.
I borrowed from a friend, used family savings, gave all documents to the finance company. Loan was approved, and the dealer booked the car.
Number plate charges were separate. He said the car would be available next week with RTO registration.
---
Mixed Feelings
Now I returned home with great joy,as if I had accomplished a great mission. The family was also in celebration mood. TV news was showing hit and run accident scenes.
I immediately turned off the TV.
After dinner, I dreamed again of driving the car, going on a picnic with my family, enjoying the long drive.
---
Conclusion🌟
For rich people, a car is just a vehicle.
For the middle class, a car is a dream, a struggle, a symbol of pride, and family happiness.
